Half a thousand Czech schools receive false bomb threats

Prague, Sep 6 (Prensa Latina) Around 500 schools in the Czech Republic have received emails with bomb threats in recent days, the country's police announced today.

Similar events have occurred since Tuesday in hundreds of primary and secondary schools in the country.

The anonymous messages spoke of threats of explosive devices allegedly placed in them.

Once again, we prefer minimalist measures, without ordering evacuation, and we will look for an individual and less invasive solution to carry out inspections of schools,’ the police reported on social network X.

The agency believes that the main motivation of the criminals is to generate public and media interest, as well as to cause chaos.

In this context, the police called on the population not to panic and not to “create unnecessary public exaggerations around the messages with threats.”

Experts from the National Center for Combatting Terrorism, Extremism and Cybercrime are involved in the investigation, according to the body.

Interior Minister Vit Rakusan told the CT24 television channel that the sending of fake bomb warnings was allegedly a coordinated attack from abroad.
