Colonel General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Defense Minister, presented new initiatives to maintain and promote solidarity, consensus, and cooperation among the armies of ASEAN member nations.
Tan Cuong underscored the importance of enhancing political trust, unity, and practical cooperation among countries and military forces in the region as the only way to address and resolve traditional and unconventional security challenges.
The Vietnamese senior official called on all parties concerned to refrain from activities that could affect peace and stability, undermine trust among nations, and hinder cooperative efforts in Southeast Asia.
