DPRK college graduates to volunteer in remote areas

Pyongyang, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) More than 200 graduates of higher educational institutes and teacher training colleges volunteered this year to work in mountainous and rural areas and remote islets, the state news agency KCNA reported.

Special mention should be made of former military graduates from Phyongsong colleges in South Pyongan Province who settled in Yangdok County with their families with the decision to work as teachers, the report states.

The news outlet also highlighted the case of new teachers from South and North Hwanghae Province, Ryanggang Province and Kaesong City, who moved to islets and other remote places.

In 2023, more than 100,000 members and leaders of the Youth Union volunteered to work in key economic sectors.

Many of them are supporting the construction of a modern avenue in Pyongyang – a task entrusted entirely to the youth – and others marched to agricultural schemes and high-priority sectors, such as mining, and to islands and remote places.

Their praiseworthy conduct is an expression of the principles on which the Workers’ Party educates the youth, KCNA noted.
