Cuba reasserts unswerving anti- terrorist stand

Havana, Sep 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba’s Foreign Ministry today reaffirmed the country’s opposition to all forms of terrorist acts, through a message on the social network X.

The statement came out on the eve of the anniversay of Fabio Di Celmo’s death, on September 4, 1997, when the Italian young tourist was idly sitting on the lobby of Havanas’ Copacana Hotel, and a bomb exploded, killing him instantly.

Orders to plant the explosive devise at the facility were admittedly given by Luis Posada Carriles, as he later acknowledged personal involvement in an interview for the New York Times.

This is a date to pay homage and also to continue demanding the cessation of all terrorist actions, the statement adds.

Sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and with support from a number of organizations in solidarity with Cuba, the Day for Peace, against the Blockade and Terrorism is observed in Cuba and beyond.
