The measure will be in force until next Friday, because of the interaction with low pressure systems in the region and the Intertropical Convergence Zone, generating an atmosphere of greater instability and favoring the occurrence of significant rainfall events, accompanied by electrical activity and possible wind gusts.
In the mountainous regions of the country, rainfalls between 75 and 150 millimeters could be recorded, while in coastal or lowland areas, rainfalls between 20 and 75 millimeters is expected, according to Impha.
On the other hand, the National Civil Protection System activated its alarms for possible emergencies in the provinces and regions, as well as in the maritime sectors of the whole country.
It also recommended the adoption of precautionary measures, expecting possible increase in river levels, gusts of wind, flooding in urban and rural areas, and landslides caused by the saturation of the ground.
