Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abebe, and other high-level government employees opened the event at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum under the slogan “Sustainable Urbanization for Africa’s Transformation.”
The event, taking place until September 6, is an opportunity for this capital and other cities to showcase their best experiences in line with the transformative vision of Africa’s Agenda 2063, in addition to addressing issues related to the continent’s cities.
The forum includes roundtable and panel discussions, dialogues, side events, assemblies, and exhibitions.
Considered a continental platform that promotes sustainable development in human settlements, the forum is a space through which governments work together to improve cities by enabling them to reach their potential as centers of hope, growth, and prosperity.
