At the Great Hall of the People, Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to sharing experience in governance and development with Sierra Leone, besides strengthening cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, and energy. During the dialogue with President Julius Maada Bio, Xi also underscored that FOCAC is an effective mechanism to promote practical cooperation between the two sides and an emblem of South-South cooperation.
Bio thanked Xi for the warm welcome, expressed his hope for the summit’s success, and highlighted the significant progress in bilateral relations since his last visit to China.
At another point, Xi spoke with Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and highlighted the deep friendship and practical cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier, Xi met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, and the two heads of State announced the upgrading of the relationship to a strategic partnership.
The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit opened in Beijing on Wednesday. It is focused on expanding bilateral ties and promoting modernization as part of a community with a shared future.
