Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning responded today to the latest statements by lawmakers and members of the U.S. House of Representatives Special Committee on China.
During a visit to Japan, they discussed cooperation with the Japanese side to counter what they consider China’s “military, economic and ideological provocations”.
The spokeswoman stressed that the U.S. committee, motivated by political interests, has repeatedly defamed China and the Communist Party, which lacks credibility.
In addition, she pointed out that the rhetoric of these politicians “is full of ideological prejudices, highlighting the so-called Chinese threat and promoting the creation of small exclusive circles that go against global trends.”
In his speech, Mao Ning reiterated Beijing’s position in favor of cooperation among nations and contributing to regional peace, stability and prosperity, not directed against third parties.
