Cronie said, she was one of about one thousand international election observers invited by the National Electoral Council (CNE) on July 28, who had the opportunity to verify in situ the election process, with respect to the participation of candidates from all across the political spectrum and where the international media also had unfettered access.
Regarding the million-dollar campaign to distort and ignore the results of the Venezuelan elections, Cronie pointed out that “western countries usually demand conditions and always use coercive mechanisms and measures in a selective manner.”
The activist, who is also member of the Global African Congress (GAC), stressed that “it is evident that the violent episodes after the voting by the extreme right- wing party led by Gonzalez and Machado, were orchestrated by the West”.
The reasoning must be simple, Cronie concluded: “the western countries led by the USA, should accept and respect the democratic will of the people of Venezuela, and lift the illegal and inhumane 930 unilateral coercive measures (sanctions), which has resulted in over 40,000 deaths according to a recent study by renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs, so that all Venezuelans can live in peace, and call on all progressive organizations to stand and support such a demand”
