Cuong, who is also a permanent member of the organization’s Secretariat, made the assessment when receiving a delegation from the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) led by the secretary in charge of Foreign Affairs, Manuel Domingos Augusto.
The Vietnamese leader praised the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties, urged to focus on the effective implementation of the signed agreements and stressed that the visit allows them to exchange evaluations on the international situation, bilateral relations and guidelines for collaboration.
Augusto, in response, highlighted Angola’s gratitude for the support provided by Vietnam to African countries, especially in the struggle for independence, and celebrated Vietnam’s achievements in almost 40 years of Renewal under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The MPLA Foreign Secretary expressed his interest in learning from Vietnam’s experience in developing the country, ensuring social justice and improving its position on the international stage, and suggested increasing interparty cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, agriculture and education.
The Angolan delegation was also received on Thursday by the secretary of the Central Committee and head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Le Hoai Trung, with whom they agreed to strengthen relationship between both parties to create a solid political base to promote multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
