According to the Citizen Digital newspaper, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, suspected of having killed 42 women in Nairobi, escaped from his cell along with several Eritreans, arrested for illegal immigration, after cutting the wire mesh that protected it.

Khalusha was arrested on July 15 after he confessed to killing 42 women following the discovery of nine mutilated bodies at a Nairobi landfill site.

Kenyan authorities said that when he was arrested, the suspect was luring another victim and was described as a serial killer, a psychopath who has no respect for human life.

The suspect was confirmed thanks to the analysis of the cell phone of one of the victims and the police found a machete in his home that was apparently used to dismember the victims.

Authorities had indicated that the murders took place between 2022 and July 11, 2024 and the age of the victims ranges from 18 to 30 years old.
