According to the report, the capture of those involved, among them Panamanians, Colombians and Mexicans, was the result of Operation “Jericho”, carried out in the provinces of Panama, West Panama, Chiriqui, Los Santos and Darien.

The agents told the press that the network invested large sums of money to create companies to move drugs from Colombia to specific points in the Guna Yala region, Panama and Darien, and then send them through jungle trails to the Costa Rican border.

The Prosecutor’s Office began to prosecute the detainees, who are charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit drug-related crimes.
