Gov’t of Bolivia and businessmen will continue talking on economy

La Paz, Aug 15 (Prensa Latina) The Government of Bolivia and private businessmen are preparing a new meeting this Friday after the exchange held on Wednesday in the presidential palace in the presence of President Luis Arce.

Official sources confirmed in statements to the press that this Wednesday the parties exchanged proposals for possible solutions to the problems faced by the national economy and agreed to a new meeting with the aim of continuing the detailed analysis of the initiatives presented.

The decision was adopted in the National Dialogue for the Economy and Production that Arce presided over, as explained by the Minister of Economy, Marcelo Montenegro, and the head of the Confederation of Private Entrepreneurs of Bolivia, Giovanni Ortuño.

During the debate, the government authorities explained in detail and succinctly what is the central problem of the shortage of foreign currency.

“We have proposed proposals and solutions that, in our opinion, as National Government, are feasible to apply, but that are obviously going to be subject to analysis by the CEPB and the business sectors,” Montenegro said.

Ortuño reported, for his part, that the business sector made proposals for solutions that will be complemented and clarified this Thursday with a view to the Executive carrying out the corresponding analysis.

Both parties agreed to meet again on Friday “to continue with a detailed analysis of these proposals, both analyzed by the national business community and the national government,” said Ortuño, who highlighted the willingness and openness of the president and the National Government “to listen to the concerns of the business sector and address our proposals and initiatives.”
