Israel bombs Lebanon with banned phosphorous ammunition

Beirut, Aug 12 (Prensa Latina) Israel bombed with internationally banned white phosphorus munitions the outskirts of the city of Kounine, in southern Lebanon.

In a continuation of its persistent hostility, Israeli aircraft fired a shell on the outskirts of Burj al-Muluk, as well as on the heights of Jabal Sadana, between Shebaa and Kfar Shuba, and the outskirts of Naqoura.

According to the Ministry of Health, three Lebanese civilians were wounded in an Israeli attack on the village of Kafr Kila in the south of the country.

Official figures from the Levantine government stated that more than 100,000 people have been displaced from the southern regions of the Levantine nation due to enemy attacks since last October.

In this context, the interim Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, underlined the continuity of diplomatic contacts to stop the Israeli threats against the country, and in another direction to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.

As disclosed by the government on its X account, the top executive figure confirmed that all ministries and departments, in cooperation with relevant international and civil society organizations, took necessary measures within the framework of the national emergency plan to face the difficult circumstances.
