Located near latitude 14.6 North, longitude 54.3 West, it will move west-northwestward near the Leeward Islands late tonight or Tuesday and will approach the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and later Puerto Rico.
The potential fifth cyclone of the current season, which began on June 1, has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour with stronger gusts, the scientific entity said.

If this disturbance transitions to a storm, it would be named Ernesto.
