The meeting is being attended by parliamentarians, personalities, and presidents of the sectoral ministerial bodies of the Council.
According to Vignaket, this first event of the year is crucial to promote the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, as it will enable the exchange of perspectives and strategic advice.
The Minister also pointed out that the ASEAN Sociocultural Community Council (ASCC) is responsible for developing and implementing the bloc’s cultural and social strategies and participating in relevant conferences to support the region’s growth.
The minister also spoke of the continuous efforts made by the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the current president of the group, to integrate the ideas of the cultural and social sectors of ASEAN, parliamentarians, and regional representatives in their development strategies.
This first meeting of the ASCC will not be limited only to discussing the immediate objectives of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, but will look a little further, up to 2045, Vignaket anticipated.
