Cejas and Galañena were kidnapped by a task group of the regime a few steps from the Cuban Embassy in Buenos Aires, and later murdered in the Automotores Orletti clandestine detention and torture center, one of several that functioned as extermination sites.
Almost four decades later, in June 2012, Galañena’s remains were found in a 200-liter metal tank filled with cement, in an abandoned property in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Virreyes.
A year later those of his partners were found.
In April 2022, the Argentine judiciary ordered the delivery of four tanks found with the skeletal remains of victims of the dictatorial regime to the National Memory Archive.
Previously, specialists from the National Institute of Industrial Technology and the Forensic Anthropology Team worked on their study, analysis, and identification.
In this way, the identities of the four missing persons, including the Cuban diplomats, managed to be established.
Recently, the tanks in which Cejas and Galañena’s remains were found were donated to Cuba and placed in the Memorial of the Denunciation in Havana.

Buenos Aires, 9 ago (Prensa Latina) Trabajadores y diplomáticos cubanos en Argentina rendirán hoy tributo a sus connacionales Jesús Cejas y Crescencio Galañena, asesinados hace 48 años durante la última dictadura cívico-militar en este país (1976-1983).
Secuestrados por un grupo de tarea del régimen, a unos pasos de la embajada cubana en esta capital, y más tarde los asesinaron en el centro clandestino de detención y tortura Automotores Orletti, uno de varios que funcionaron como lugares de exterminio en esta nación durante ese período.
Casi cuatro décadas después, en junio de 2012, hallaron los restos de Galañena en un tanque metálico de 200 litros relleno con cemento, en un predio abandonado de la localidad bonaerense de Virreyes y un año más tarde, los de su compañero.
En abril de 2022, la justicia argentina ordenó la entrega al Archivo Nacional de la Memoria de cuatro tanques con restos óseos de víctimas del régimen dictatorial.
Antes, especialistas del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial y el Equipo de Antropología Forense, trabajaron en su estudio, análisis e identificación.
De esa manera, se logró establecer la identidad de cuatro personas, entre las que se encontraban los diplomáticos cubanos.
Recientemente, los tanques donde encontraron los restos de Cejas y Galañena, fueron donados a Cuba y depositados en el Memorial de la Denuncia, en La Habana.
