In a televised appearance on Thursday night, the high official gave details about the operation, in which those involved were dedicated to transfer equipment from the US to assemble these devices and distribute them with the purpose of murdering, destroying and generating chaos among the Venezuelan people.
He explained that those involved brought wooden boxes with double bottoms from the US, in which they planted the parts of the weapons and ammunition and the tools on the top.
“All this through a shipping company from the United States to Venezuela,” he pointed out.
As evidence, he showed parts and pieces of AK-47 and R-15 weapons, as well as vehicles, aircrafts, boats, 1,843 rounds of ammunition and a revolver.
Ceballos pointed out that the pilot of the aircraft, Leonardo Atilio Micaleti Hernández, and the officer of the Scientific and Criminal Investigations Corps, Argelio José Alcalá, who was captured in Caracas by his own colleagues, are under arrest.
He explained that the investigation determined that Mauricio Andrade Santamaría, a Venezuelan citizen and active military chief in the United States, who maintained communication with Micaleti, as well as the logistic operator, Jean Carlo Michel Ramírez, who sent the weapons from the United States.
The Venezuelan minister added that these organizations contacted criminal gangs in the country to generate destabilization and referred to the destabilizing paramilitary organizations that call themselves comanditos, which are led by Venezuela’s Vente party.
What these criminal groups tried to do in the country during these days was to impose themselves by force to take power illegally against the people, the nation and the institutions of the State, he underlined.
They counted with the support of non- governmental organizations and foreign governments, together with criminals constituted “in fifth generation criminal gangs” which is nothing more than the alliance of political parties with criminal gangs to obtain their objectives by deceiving some people.
He stated that they used large sums of money to commit all these crimes, with a high level of psychological operations and using social networks such as Instagram.
The plans were directed from the United States, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador, and among their destruction objectives were the burning of public and private property, beating people and destroying religious and patriotic symbols such as the statue of Liberator Simón Bolívar and Commander Hugo Chávez.
