I extend to them a salute full of love, pride and honor for their heroism and courage, and for their actions that have made them an example to follow and supreme courage for all generations, the president said in a message to the military on occasion of the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Syrian Arab Army.

He considered that Syria is witnessing a new phase of reconstruction and is confidently advancing on the path of victory and liberation.

Our beloved country is regaining its health and splendor thanks to the steadfastness of the people who have not let themselves be humiliated for a moment despite the challenges and pressures, and also the military of the army, who are the protectors of the land and dignity, Al-Assad assured.

In his turn, Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas stressed the army’s steadfastness and hailed the uniformed men who work tirelessly and offer sacrifices in the fulfillment of their national duties and tasks, under extremely exceptional circumstances. Speaking on national television, the high command acknowledged the role of the Syrian Army from its foundation to the present day.
