Minister of Foreign Affairs of India to receive Vietnamese Premier

New Delhi, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Subrahmanyan Jaishankar will receive the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, who will conduct a three-day State visit within the framework of strengthening the Integral Strategic Association.

As part of his schedule, the Vietnamese premier will talk, on Thursday, with his counterpart Narendra Modi, after which they will both preside over the signing of joint agreements and memorandums.

Pham Minh Chinh will also visit President Droupadi Murmu and Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar, and pay respect to Mahatma Gandhi, among other activities, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

India and Vietnam have ancient historical and civilization ties, which were taken up to the degree of Integral Strategic Association during the visit of Narendra Modi to Hanoi in September 2016, according to a dispatch of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For India, Vietnam is a pillar in its policy of Action for the East and an important partner in its vision of the Indo-Pacific.

To the Vietnamese authorities, the visit of Pham Minh Chinh is deeply important, as it takes place in the context of the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Accords at the end of the war in Indochina. India has had a prominent role in the negotiations and signing of agreements, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thanh Binh stated to the press.

According to the Vietnamese authority, the goal of the presence of Vietnam’s Premier in New Delhi is further deepening the integral strategic association between the two countries, which constitutes an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on regional and international security.
