Panama suspends air operations with Venezuela temporarily

Panama, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) The Civil Aeronautics Authority (AAC) informed that starting on Wednesday, at 20:00, local time, commercial flights between Panama and Venezuela will be temporarily suspended.

According to the institution, this prohibition also applies to general aircraft with Venezuelan registration wanting to enter Panama’s air space.

The CAA clarified that this measure will be in force until a clear mechanism is established with the National Institute of Civil Aviation of Venezuela (INAC) to determine how to request the processing time and approval of landing permits in each country.

On Monday, Caracas announced the temporary suspension of commercial flights to and from Panama and the Dominican Republic due to the interference of those governments and questioning of the outcome of the elections, won by President Nicolás Maduro on July 28, with 51.2 percent of the votes.
