The decision is the result of the second ministerial meeting on the conflict in eastern DRC, held on Tuesday in Luanda, where the foreign ministers of both countries participated, as well as Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António, who chaired the talks as part of Angola’s mediation.
The press release stated that the ceasefire will be verified by a mechanism created for that purpose.
On Tuesday, the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie of the DRC, Théresé Wagner, and Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe opened in Luanda the second ministerial meeting on the Situation of Security and Peace in the East of the DRC.
