According to a government communication released on the social network X, in the State Protocol Hall, Marrero Cruz thanked the welcome and highlighted the historic relations that unite the two nations, before the Iranian Minister of Health, Bahram Einollahi.
He also expressed the willingness of Cuba to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation, in this his first visit to the Persian country.
The head of government said that political ties are at the highest level and there is much coincidence in the international sphere, according to the official communication.
“However, more progress can be made in the economic and commercial area. We have identified the fields of interest, one of them is Health”, he pointed out.
For his part, Einollahi said that “Iran loves Cubans very much” and evoked the exchange of visits between Tehran and Havana, particularly in the year 2023.
The prime minister’s stay in the city will last until the first day of August, the text notes.
Marrero Cruz, it specifies, “will carry out a work program that includes meetings with Persian authorities, representatives of the solidarity movements with Cuba and members of the state mission”.
