“In Cuba the voting is taking place in total normality, the compatriots have been arriving and have exercised their right to vote without any kind of inconvenience,” the Venezuelan diplomat declared to the press.

“For me it is a great pride to be here, on this island of brothers, of friends, witnessing this electoral day and, of course, with the joy that today in Venezuela voting is being exercised,” he expressed.

Maneiro pointed out that this is a civic day, where we are giving a demonstration to the world that we, Venezuelans, are deciding for the prosperity of the country and for peace.

The Venezuelan ambassador to Cuba stressed this is a day of great motivation and optimism.

Venezuelan residents in Cuba have been arriving early in the morning at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Consulate General in Havana, which was transformed into a Voting Center this Sunday, to exercise their right to vote.

There are ten candidates who aspire to occupy the presidential chair in the Miraflores Palace, the seat of the Government in Caracas, nine of them from the opposition sector and current president Nicolás Maduro, who aspires to be reelected and is running for his third consecutive term.
