The Zionist government approved a shameful decision that aims to prevent Unrwa from playing its humanitarian role based on providing the minimum of services inside and outside the occupied Palestinian territories, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued today.
The document considered that this attitude is part of the Israeli attempts to end the role of the agency and cover up the crimes it commits in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as liquidate the rights of Palestinian refugees in the Diaspora.
He explained that the UN General Assembly decided, after the day of the Nakba in 1948, to create Unrwa with the aim of enshrining the rights of Palestinian refugees and the implementation of UN resolution no. 194, which ratifies the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes from which they were expelled.
According to the Foreign Ministry statement, false Israeli accusations against a UN agency providing humanitarian services would then lead to accusing the United Nations itself of terrorism, as well as any international organization that defends the human rights of the Palestinian people and the international humanitarian law.
