Shortly after his arrival here, Lazo, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), was welcomed by the Vietnamese Head of State, To Lam; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and the head of the Legislature, Tran Thanh Man.
Lam thanked Lazo and his delegation for their presence in this capital to share such a sad and painful moment, and also for the messages of condolences sent by Army General Raul Castro, and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC and Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel.
At all times, whether difficult or successful, we have always had our Cuban brothers by our side, said the Vietnamese president, who expressed his willingness to continue strengthening relations between the two countries, as was always Phu Trong’s wish.
The willingness to follow the legacy of the late VCP leader in the sense of further developing ties with Cuba, to which he always paid much attention was also expressed by the chairman of the Vietnamese Parliament, Tran Thanh Man.
