The event encouraged by the first lady, Gabriela de Bukele, who promoted the Love Becoming Food law, aimed at promoting breastfeeding in the country, will be attended by more than 100 professionals from countries such as Argentina, Canada, Cuba and Mexico, and high-level representatives of governments and professors and health professionals.
The Forum will create a platform for policy makers, health professionals, researchers and advocates to meet, share knowledge and discuss the importance and strategies to promote, protect and support breastfeeding throughout the region, according to a report from the organizers.
The Minister of Health of Honduras, Carla Paredes, upon her arrival in El Salvador, highlighted the effort and pointed out that the political will of governments to promote a strategy of this magnitude is fundamental.
El Salvador was chosen by the United Nations (UN) to develop the event due to its progress through the work of the Office of the First Lady, Gabriela de Bukele, in the promotion, protection and support of breastfeeding for the benefit of Salvadoran families.
