DPRK leader expresses hope for friendship with Syria

Pyongyang, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) Kim Il Sung, chairman of the State Affairs Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), expressed hope for strengthening friendship and cooperation with the Syrian Arab Republic.

As reported today by the state news agency ACNC, Kim expressed this wish in a message to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, thanking him for the message he had sent on the 30th anniversary of the death of the founder of the DPRK, Kim Il Sung.

The general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea also wished Syria further success in defending national sovereignty and economic and social development.

Born on April 15, 1912 and died on July 8, 1994, Kim Il Sung was the creator of the Juche ideology and supreme leader of the DPRK from its founding in 1948 until he died in 1994.
