This Thursday, the legislative board will begin the presentation of evidence to prosecute Sommerfeld.
The process against the minister was raised by legislator Jhajaira Urresta, from the Citizen Revolution (RC) movement, according to whom the Ecuadorian State violated a series of constitutional, legal, and international treaty norms, and the minister, along with other authorities, was responsible for ensuring relations with Mexico, guaranteeing the peaceful resolution of controversies, without threats or using force to resolve said controversies.
The Foreign Minister spoke out regarding the process and stated that she will go “firmly and convinced” to defend herself, the institution, and the country.
