Commander Deif is well and in charge of operations against the occupiers, said a source from that Islamist group, quoted by The Times of Israel newspaper.

On Saturday, the Army bombed an alleged safe area for displaced Palestinians in the Al Mawasi area, near the southern city of Khan Yunis, with the argument of annihilating Deif, an action that caused a wave of international criticism due to the number of civilian casualties.

Medical authorities in Gaza reported that the vast majority of the victims are women and minors.

Shortly after, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a press conference to confirm the objective of the raid, although he admitted that they do not know if the Palestinian leader had died.

Israeli media, quoting security and military sources, affirmed that there is a high probability of his death after a surveillance that supposedly led to his location in a building, attacked with large-caliber bombs.

In response, Hamas Deputy Chief Khalil al-Hiya denied to Al Jazeera television that Deif had been assassinated.

Deif listened to Netanyahu’s speech and mocked his false statements, Al-Hiya said.

Israel’s accusations are absurd and try to justify this horrible massacre, Hamas Spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri confirmed.
