The two-day meeting brings together ministers, deputy ministers, provincial premiers, directors-general and representatives of the South African Local Government Association (Salga).
On this occasion, the leaders, members of the Government of National Unity (GUN), come from 11 political parties, and the African National Congress (ANC) is the most represented, followed by the until now opposition Democratic Alliance (DA).
As President Cyril Ramaphosa told the media before the start of the meeting, “the GUN is standing, alive.”
Within the Cabinet, he added, we are working very hard and “people are contributing, everyone is talking.”
This Lekgotla constitutes a good start for GUN, summarized the South African president.
The new cabinet, composed under the National Unity Government, is made up of a total of 32 ministers and 43 vice ministers.
