WHO General Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus explained on X that 34 agency vehicle are stranded in the Egyptian city of Al-Arish, as they wait to bring the cargo into the Gaza Strip.
Some 850 pallets of medical supplies are waiting to be picked up, while another 40 trucks are waiting in the Egyptian city of Ismailiya, the official noted stressed.
“WHO calls for restrictions on the entry of supplies into Gaza to be immediately lifted,” he said.
In early May, shipments of vital products became even more difficult after the occupation by the Israeli Army of the Rafah crossing, which connects Gaza with Egypt, and which for the previous seven months was the only door to bring food, medicine and fuel into Gaza.
