These basic compendiums summarized in mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence, have constituted the basic determinants of the historic Syrian-Chinese friendly relations, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement published by the state-run SANA news agency.
The Foreign Ministry considered that these principles embodied the friendship and cooperation that united the two peoples for years and culminated today with the wise vision of Presidents Bashar Al-Assad Xi Jinping.
In addition, they have proved their validity in all times and places and have constituted a platform for action for countries advocating peace, stability and cooperation, and for those who believe in the rule of international law, the press release explained.
It denounced that the forces of global hegemony and colonial arrogance continue to disregard these principles and work to undermine them.
At the end of the statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed the firm conviction that these statements will propel the world towards peace, development, cooperation and common benefit.
