Officials of that agency presented the day before in a special television program the results of an investigation that led to the capture of citizen Ardenys García Álvarez, 40, who illegally emigrated to the United States in 2014 and smuggled weapons and ammunition into Cuba by sea.

García Álvarez confessed that he entered through the north of Matanzas in December 2023 on a jet ski to carry out the operation organized and financed by terrorist groups based in South Florida.
