Images posted on social networks showed a destroyed vehicle burning in flames on the highway that connects Damascus and Beirut, the Syrian and Lebanese capitals, respectively.
The identities of the dead are still unknown.
This is Israel’s second attack in Syria in less than 24 hours, since in the first hour of Tuesday, several missiles fired from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea hit a position in the vicinity of the coastal city of Banias, in the province of Tartous.
The aggression caused some material damage, the Syrian Defense Ministry said.
