China and Hungary for international collaboration for peace

Beijing, Jul 8 ( Prensa Latina) Chinese President Xi Jinping and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán advocated here today for international collaboration to contribute to world peace, stability and prosperity.

After the head of government made a surprise landing in Beijing on Monday, the two leaders discussed “issues of deep mutual interest,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.

According to official sources, the two leaders met to further strengthen the strategic relationship between their respective countries, two months after Xi’s successful state visit to Hungary.

During the meeting, the Chinese leader stressed the importance of upgrading Sino-Hungarian relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Xi recalled that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will be held next week in Beijing, where plans to deepen reforms, promote high-quality development and high-level international opening-up will be discussed.

In the Chinese leader’s view, these initiatives will create new opportunities and dynamism in China-Hungary cooperation.

Xi also stressed the importance of maintaining high-level exchanges, deepening mutual political trust, strengthening strategic communication and promoting practical cooperation in all fields.

He also congratulated Hungary for assuming the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union and emphasized there are no geopolitical conflicts or fundamental interests between China and Europe.

He stressed that the Sino-European relationship has strategic significance and global impact, so it should be kept stable and healthy to face global challenges together.

In this regard, Xi urged both sides to follow the right direction of partnership and cooperation, promote mutual openness and international collaboration to contribute to world peace, stability and prosperity.

For his part, Viktor Orbán highlighted Xi’s historic and successful visit to Hungary two months ago.

Amid international instability, the prime minister praised China for its commitment to peace and constructive proposals, while recognizing Beijing as a key stabilizing force on the world stage.

“Hungary values and respects the role and influence of China and is ready for close strategic communication and cooperation,” he added.

Orbán advocated greater cooperation and opposed the formation of “small circles” and bloc confrontations.

The head of government had confirmed on his social network account X in the morning local time his arrival in the Chinese capital on a “peace mission”.

Orbán already made two surprise visits to Ukraine and Russia after Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the EU Council.
