“Cuba congratulates the people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the 213th anniversary of its independence,” the Foreign Ministry said on behalf of the Cuban Government and people.
“We ratify our solidarity and support for the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez; and our commitment to continue to strengthen the ties of brotherhood that unite us,” the text added.
Cuba and Venezuela maintain solid political, economic and cultural relations, in addition to agreeing on government positions and practices on important issues of bilateral, regional and global interest.
The Venezuelan Government and people celebrate their National Day on Friday, when they celebrate the signing of the act of independence of the former Spanish colony, on July 5, 1811.
