SCO member states reaffirmed their commitment to building new international relations, a community with a shared future for humanity, and opposed a confrontational mindset in resolving global and regional issues.
The multilateral mechanism was established in 2001 with the Spirit of Shanghai. It is based on founding values that advocate trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for the diversity of civilizations, and the pursuit of development.
Following Belarus’ SCO official membership this Thursday, the regional organization includes ten member states, two observer states, and 14 dialogue partners.
