The Foreign Minister, on a visit to the Philippines, made the statement during his bilateral meeting with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo in Makati City.
I expressed my admiration for the Philippines’ economic performance under President Marcos, which has made the country one of the fastest growing economies in the region, the diplomat said.
In a press conference, Sangiampongsa said Bangkok is committed to further increase the volume of trade and investment with Manila, and called for the Philippine government’s continued support to Thai investors.
He added that Thailand is also willing to increase cooperation in trade facilitation, renewable energy and food security; and raised the need to further expand flight routes between the two nations to boost two-way tourism, specifically between Cebu and Phuket.
