Haitian police reacted, but gangs killed 25 people

Port-au-Prince, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) The Haitian National Police ( HNP) has from today the control of a police station seized by the bandits, who left in their attack a balance of 25 people dead.

The death toll could rise, because there are lifeless bodies in the houses that the gang members set on fire with their inhabitants inside.

Besides the people killed by the armed gangs, there were also reports of considerable material damage in this violent episode in the town of Greisser, located at 27.3 kilometers from the capital, said the radio station Radio Caraïbes.

The digital newspaper Haiti Libre reported that a strong counter-offensive by the PNH made it possible to regain control of the Gressier police station by defeating the bandits whose leader Ti Bébé Bougoy had boasted the day before in a video of being stronger than the forces of law and order.

Several gang members were mortally wounded during the recapture of the police station by members of the specialized units of the HNP.

On Sunday, after an intense combat between the police and the gang of the leader Ti Bébé Bougoy, the bandits made the agents run, and took the police station for the second time.

According to the digital newspaper Le Facteur Haiti, the criminal gang surrounded the police station, which was occupied in May, and then recovered by a commando of the so-called SWAT TEAM, which now had to escape to save their lives.

As has become customary, the gang members set fire to a police car, recorded a video and posted it on social networks.
