Equipped with all amenities and designed according to the geographical environment, the houses were handed over free of charge in Samchon district, located at the foot of picturesque Mount Kuwol and near the western seaboard.
The certificates of ownership were handed over by the secretary of the South Hwanghae Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), Pak Yun Chol, and other leaders of the territory.
The ceremony was enlivened by songs, traditional dances and other cultural activities performed by the farmers themselves and amateur groups.
The progress of the rural housing construction program is directly supervised by the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and DPRK State Affairs Chairman Kim Jong Un. South Hwanghae produces about a quarter of the country’s rice and is also famous for the size and sweetness of its peaches and pears.
