The Russian presidential spokesman told reporters on Monday that last Saturday Belarussian First Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Muraveiko, quoted by ONT television, reported “unjustified” activity by Ukraine near the border between the two countries.

Belarus is an allied state, we have special formats of dialogue through all relevant agencies, including special services, therefore, this news is a cause of concern for Russia as well, Peskov said.

The spokesman added that Russian and Belarussian leaders Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko will discuss the issue on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, scheduled for this week in Astana, if they deem it necessary.

In March 2023, Putin announced that Moscow and Minsk agreed to deploy Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, without violating international commitments.
