In 2022, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly declared by consensus June 24 as the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, with the aim of recognizing their contribution to the foreign policy of the countries they represent. as well as the challenges they face in the exercise of their positions.

The UN stressed on its website that women bring immense benefits to diplomacy and their leadership styles, experience and priorities allow us to expand the scope of the issues examined and the quality of the results, with a more inclusive perspective and reach for all. the citizenship.
