At a press briefing, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian referred to recent comments by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg regarding China and Russia.
Stoltenberg warned on Monday that NATO allies would make Beijing pay if China continues to supply military technology to Russia and support Moscow in Russia’s conflict with Ukraine.
We advise the relevant parties to stop sowing discord and inciting confrontation between the parties and do something practical to resolve the crisis in Ukraine politically,” the spokesman said.
Lin pointed out that China is neither the originator nor a party to the Ukrainian crisis and has always been committed to promoting peace from an objective and fair stance.
Beijing’s constructive role has been widely acknowledged by the international community.
