Puerto Rico: Prensa Latina is an invaluable tool for the peoples

Prensa-Latina-2-1-2-3
San Juan, Jun 18 (Prensa Latina) The National Hostosian Independence Movement (MINH in Spanish) of Puerto Rico classified the Latin American Information Agency Prensa Latina as an "invaluable tool for our peoples" in a letter sent to the media outlet regarding the 65th anniversary of its foundation.

“It has been a long and fruitful career that this bastion of Latin American and Caribbean journalism has had,” said the leader of the MINH, Julio Muriente Pérez, in a letter addressed to Luis Enrique González, president of Prensa Latina.

Pérez indicated that sixty-five years after its founding, the extraordinary work of Prensa Latina acquires enormous relevance by giving news, information, and analysis a new dimension, a transcendental purpose in favor of human freedom and dignity. “The battle of ideas, the confrontation of paradigms, the denunciation of manipulation, lies, and half-truths, and the strengthening and dissemination of the ideas, proposals, and struggles of our people, is an unavoidable task of every day, of every moment,” he said.

He also highlighted Prensa Latina as an invaluable tool for our people, combating the enemy’s media bombardment and disseminating the various social processes that are developing in all latitudes in favor of a profound transformation of the entire planet. “In this titanic task, Prensa Latina has been present in an exemplary way, from the first months of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution until today,” he stressed.

“I have the satisfaction of having collaborated as a correspondent for Prensa Latina from Puerto Rico, in 1984,” said Muriente Pérez in what he described as “a modest task, which fills me with pride,” and stated that Prensa Latina is always on the side of free, Caribbean and Latin American Puerto Rico.

“We live in a transcendental moment in history; that requires us to know, understand, and interpret properly, to combat successfully. In that context, in 2024, since 1959, we have Prensa Latina,” said Pérez, who sent “our strong and supportive hug to those who make Prensa Latina a continental and global reality.”
