A press release published on the official website of the Presidency of the Republic states that upon his arrival in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau, accompanied by his daughter Laura and Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli, the head of State went to the Palace of the Republic, where he met with his counterpart, Maia Sandu.
Afterwards, the president and Sandu will attend a concert by the orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Moldova Serghei Lunchevici, organized on the Italian delegation’s visit.
On the morning of June 18, an official welcoming ceremony will be held at the Presidential Palace, followed by talks between Mattarella and Sandu on various issues of bilateral, regional and international interest, after which a press conference will be held.
At the end of his contact with the media, which will begin at approximately 12:30 local time, the Italian leader will go to the Moldovan Parliament building, where he will be received by its President Igor Grosu, and finally he will lay a wreath at the Monument to Stephen the Great.
Finally, he will meet the staff of the Italian Embassy to Chisinau and a representative of the Italian community in Moldova, before his departure that day for the Rumanian capital, Bucharest.
Upon his arrival in Rumania, a meeting with representatives of the Italian community in Rumania is planned for the evening, followed by a dinner at the Italian Embassy in Bucharest.
