In a statement, Mahamat deplored of the loss of 150 lives since the early June, at least 42 of which were killed during last Thursday’s attack in the village of Maikengo, Lubero territory.
He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Congolese people in general, while encouraging authorities in Kinshasa in collaboration with the countries of the region to intensify their efforts to curb the spread of the terrorist threat in the Great Lakes region.
