Prensa Latina started its 65th anniversary with a pledge to continue Operation Truth by giving an added global voice to the global south in the new dispensation where truth is masked with lies and fake news, he said.
In a video-message, the Saint Lucian political analyst pointed out that the agency´s new international online platform “Voices of the Global South” has been showing, talking and taking the truth to the world, from a south-south perspective.
Its objective, he added, is to ensure that “everyone everywhere can be informed of what the traditional mainstream media continue to hide and deny”.
In less than six months, those who gathered in Havana for Prensa Latina´s 65th anniversary in January stand proud of our roles in this historic decision that’s also helped refresh global views about the resilience of Cuba’s media after the agency was subjected to an imperial hack attack earlier this year, he said.
Bousquet stressed that “instead of silencing that voice, the attack further strengthened Prensa Latina’s determination to defend and counter-attack and continue to survive, breathing new life to fortify its ability to fight for truth and honesty in reporting in the new 21st century dispensation”.
