The exhibition gathers snapshots taken by its photojournalists and correspondents in several countries, which make up the rich historical archive of Prensa Latina (PL). It includes images of revolutionary leaders Fidel Castro, Ernesto Che Guevara, and Raul Castro, besides Jorge Ricardo Masetti, its first president, among other prominent figures.
It also collects images of significant moments of the six and a half decades of work spreading the truth about the Cuban Revolution and popular causes in Latin America and the world, in the face of the disinformation crusade of the hegemonic mass media.
As part of the day of tributes, there will also be a book launching and a visit by PL professionals to the Jorge Ricardo Masetti High School in Havana.
The main event for the PL anniversary will be held at the Havana-based Casa de las Americas on Friday, June 14.
These activities, including those recently held in four cities in the United States as part of the visit of PL executives to that country to participate in the Hispanic-American Press Congress held in New York on May 31 and June 1, join those taking place in several countries to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Prensa Latina.
