For its national and international information work, the agency represents an indispensable source to know the reality of Cuba and Latin America in a complex world due to its dangers and challenges, CubaCoop President Victor Fernandez underscored in his message.
Known by the acronym PL, Prensa Latina emerged on June 16, 1959, a few months after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, to give voice to the just causes of the peoples of the South, ignored by the mainstream media.
Fernandez acknowledged PL’s work in disseminating issues of solidarity with Cuba and the effects of the actions conducted in France and globally against the US blockade, particularly the agenda implemented by CubaCoop, which has been promoting decentralized cooperation for almost 30 years.
He stated that we are proud of Prensa Latina’s support of the different projects and the roadmap of that cooperation.
